The United States has a long history fighting for independence, here are a few parts of the fight.

Boston Tea Party

The Boston Tea Party happened in 1773.The main part was about throwing loads of tea so the British would go away. So the British came into Boston asking to pay a really high tax, everyone in Boston did not like it, so the people in Boston started to throw a lot of tea into the sea.

The American Revolution

After the Americans declared independence on July 4, 1776, the British people did not want the Americans to win independence that fast so after 2-3 years the American Revolutionary War started. It was one of the hardest times for the Americans because the war lasted for around 10 years. Between the war, you might know Benjamin Franklin, Right? He was the ambassador to France at that time. He might have got a group of soldiers to come to the United States and they fought on the American side. Soon, the British crumbled and the Americans won their independence.
