Habitat of a Coyote

You might have heard about coyotes in your area, or hear stories about them wandering in neighborhoods, or have even encountered a coyote yourself! These canines use to live in wide grasslands and deserts, but now wander around forests, mountains, and cities of North America. Coyotes have even made it to suburbs of many major cities including Los Angeles. But the real question is, where do Coyotes build their dens? Coyotes exclusively use dens during their pup season, otherwise they sleep in the open or undercover. Coyote dens can be a hollowed-out tree stump, a rock outcrop, or a existing racoon, skunk, or any medium-sized predator burrow. Coyote also excavate their own dens because they prefer protective covers like plants or trees, or even a drainage slope. Coyotes also have a large distribution covering the majority of North and Central America. They inhabit as far north as Alaska, and as far south as Costa Rica.

What Competes Coyotes for food, and what do Coyotes eat, and are coyotes endangered?

Coyotes have many different kinds of predators they compete for food. Gray Wolves and coyotes have a large history of competing against each other for food. Coyotes tend to avoid wolve habitats because if they close to wolves either dominate hunting, and either kill the coyotes or kill their food supply. In the 19th and 20 centuries, as wolf population began to decline, the coyote population began to increase. Later, in Yellow Stone National Park, there was a huge population of coyotes there. When the once locally extinct gray wolf was introduced to the area, the coyote population began to decline by 39%. Coyotes are also compete with and are eaten by cougars. Cougars and Coyotes compete for deer in the Sierra Nevada, and cougars usually dominate coyotes, and sometimes cougars even kill coyotes, but not as much as Wolves.

Although a coyote’s diet is 90% meat, the remaining 10% is very important as well! A Coyotes diet consists of a large diet of fruits and vegetables including blackberries, blueberries, apples, carrots, watermelon, and peanuts. Coyotes also eat grass and grain, mainly in the winter. In areas inhabited by humans, a coyotes diet mainly consists of cattle, sheep, maize, wheat, and other produce. In more populated areas, a coyotes diet mainly consists of racoons, rabbits, domestic pets, roadkill, trash, and garden produce.

Currently, the ICUN categorizes Coyotes with the conversation status of ” Least Concern.” Populations are increasing and coyotes are facing little threat endangerment at this time. The dangers Coyotes face is habitat loss and widespread hunting due to human activity

Strength and Speed of a Coyote

Coyotes have a pretty strong bite featuring 88 Psi. Coyotes narrow lower jaw usually gives off the strongest punch. Apart from their strong jaw, what helps them take off bigger animals if by hunting in packs, giving them more strength in taking down their enemy. Coyotes can run as fast as 35mph to 43mph.

Coyotes are pretty cool and fierce animals, but do you think Coyotes are cool animals? If I were you, I would say Coyotes are cool animals.

All about Polar Bears https://www.preetamsworld.com/all-about-polar-bears/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=all-about-polar-bears Sat, 25 Jun 2022 18:14:32 +0000 https://www.preetamsworld.com/?p=128 Polar Bears are pretty cool animals, but have you ever thought about how amazing this animal can be?

Weight, Strength, and Speed of a Polar Bear

Polar Bears are one of the most strongest animals on earth! This really strong animal has a powerful bite of 1200 psi, the strongest bite among all bear species. This animals large size contributes to how strong their bite is and what makes them the most deadly animal among all bear species on earth. The largest polar bear scientists have recorded had a height around 11 feet and weighed more than 2000 pounds! On the average, male polar bears weigh between 700 to 1500 pounds, but females are much smaller and only weigh from 330 to 650 pounds. The height of a polar bear varies around 5.9 to 10 feet tall, which towers all other bear species around the world. The average walking speed of a polar bear is 5.5 kph (which is 3.4 miles per hour). When a polar bear is getting chased or is chasing prey, they can run as fast as 40 kph, (which is 25 miles per hour), in short distances.

Food and Habitat of a Polar Bear

Polar Bears typically live in the Artic, on ice-covered waters. Why polar bears typically rely on ice-covered waters is because they rely on it to access their primary source of food, which are seals. We divide the polar bear population into 19 units or subpopulations. around 60% of the subpopulations are located in Canada. Compared with other bear species like the brown bear or the grizzly bear, polar bears are mostly carnivorous. While other bears species live in habitats with access with mostly fruit, berries, grass, and other plant life, polar bears have access to only the artic food sources. Polar bears only eat plants when their are food shortages, which plants make a small amount of their diet. Polar Bears typically eat Seals, Narwhals, Reindeer, Fish, Eggs, Kelp, Shellfish, and more. Seals are Polar Bears most favorite food, but this food source does not always come out ready available. When Polar Bears are hungry, they just hunt any animal they come across.

Endangered Polar Bears

Polar bears are not endangered but have been slowly losing their population. Polar Bears are listed as a threatened species and will continue to decline if their threats are not solved. Climate change and habitat loss is the main reason polar bears are declining in numbers. Polar Bears are one of the many animals that is affected by climate changes, and they will lose in their numbers if the earth continues to get warmer. All the 19 subpopulations where polar bears live have been getting affected by the melting of ice in their habitat. Around 22,000 to 31,000 polar bears are alive today as they are the kings of their habitat in population.

Polar Bears are pretty fierce, fast and is a pretty cool animal, but their numbers in population will continue to decline as the earth gets warmer. Now, do you think polar bears are cool animals? If I were you, I would say polar bears are one of the most coolest animals I have ever seen

TOY OF FEBUEARY https://www.preetamsworld.com/toy-of-febueary/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=toy-of-febueary Tue, 02 Feb 2021 03:28:42 +0000 https://www.preetamsworld.com/?p=118 The Toy of February is Beyblades. Let’s take a look at their conditions.

Ogar

You might have guessed that Ogar can have only one type of the four but some Beyblades can have more than one which this bey has! Because that Ogar can switch to any modes it has huge amounts of power so that leads to that the bey is not at all easy to defeat.

Z Achilles

Z Achilles is an balance type so you would say that it could hold it’s balance but that is not the case, that means that it has good stamina and it can hold it’s balance for some time, more than the other types of beys. Again Achilles has huge amount of power that makes the bey not easy at all to defeat, well you have to train one of your beys and defeat it!

Storm SpryZen

SpryZen is a balance type so again it has good stamina and it can hold it’s balance than the other types of beys you can find there, Also at last it has very huge amounts of powers which can lead to destruction so it is not easy to destruct the bey but in the episodes it some might be able to defeat it.

Notes: once you have a bey be sure to make your bey powerful and defeat every single one in the world!

Elephants https://www.preetamsworld.com/elephants/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=elephants Sat, 30 Jan 2021 18:08:18 +0000 https://www.preetamsworld.com/?p=113 Elephants are more amazing than we think!

How strong Elephants are

Even though some elephants live half as much as human’s, if you go close to them they can break all your bones in just one shot! But that is not just for humans, they can even break lion’s or hyena’s bones in a few shots!

Food and Habitat

You can see that Elephants are everywhere, but they mostly range from the south of Asia to the north of Africa. Elephants mostly prefer rain forests or scrub forests but as you may be thinking they also live in the savannah. Elephants mostly eat nuts, fruits, tree bark, veggies, leaves, and more.

Weight and Speed

Because Elephants are huge, tall and they keep eating they weigh three times as a car! which means they weight 12,000 pounds. Elephants can run at speeds of 30 miles per hour.

Population

There are about 500,000 Elephants living in the world right now. Because people kill them for their tusks to make famous art crafts or even for fun which is a bad thing, also people destroy their habitats for building new places. I will explain more below.

Explaining more- how many Elephants are living?

USA-0 Asia- 40,000 Africa- 415,000 South America- about 100 Europe- extinct Australia- about 30 Antarctica-0

What it is

Physics are something like why do they use metal to hold these doors? And how are they helping the door stay so strong? lets find out. People use metal to hold doors because it helps it stay sturdy and strong, and it helps it from falling. And they help it stay so strong because if you take a rubber band, it is not so useful for holding doors because it will easily fall down so as the door but metal is strong. Physics are study of light or study of the N law, so it must e related to science.

Cheetahs https://www.preetamsworld.com/cheetahs/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=cheetahs Thu, 15 Oct 2020 01:15:00 +0000 https://www.preetamsworld.com/?p=98 Cheetahs are fast animals! here is some things about cheetahs.

Food

3 Revisions

Cheetahs are solitary hunters and fast animals that they can eat stuff like Wildebeest, Gazelle, Hare, Antelope, Mice, Fish, all these animals and you may be wondering if they can eat stuff like giraffes well cheetahs reach speeds up to 70 miles per hour and giraffes are stronger animals than cheetahs, so they are built for speed not strength.

Habitat

Cheetahs live in Grasslands and Savannah’s so you can tell that they live in parts of the United States and parts of Africa because United States has lots of grasslands and Africa has lots of Savannah’s.

Population

Cheetahs are very low in population because people burn their habitats so they can grow food on farms, and they will build stuff. People also do poaching so they can make stuff.

Weight/Speed

Cheetahs are fast animals and reach speeds of ( 70 miles per hour), cheetahs are the fastest land animal on earth. Cheetahs weight is around (46-160 lbs).

Tigers https://www.preetamsworld.com/tigers/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=tigers Tue, 30 Jun 2020 16:56:56 +0000 https://www.preetamsworld.com/?p=92 Tigers are pretty large animals! here are some things about tigers

Pic Credit: Pixabay/sasint

Food

Tigers are the largest cats in the world so that means… you guessed it, needs a lot of meat to stay healthy. Tigers hunt deer, elk, wild boar, buffaloes, crocodiles, and more. and they can also hunt for smaller prey such as monkeys, fish, hares, birds, ground based birds such as ducks, amphibians, and more.

Habitat

Siberian tigers live in the northern parts of Asia, but they are cold places such as many places in Russia, Bengal tigers live in southern Asia such as places in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, China, Bhutan, and more.

Population

Tigers are dying because humans do poaching for a few reasons like for keeping them in a zoo, and for decorations (fur and nails), stuff like that. And people tear down forests so they can build homes for humans which is harmful for tigers and different animals it is so sad.

YearPopulation

20203,000
India’s tiger population
YearPopulation
2015562
2019480-540
todayabout 500
Russia’s tiger population

So if you compare both tables you can tell that there are more Bengal tigers (also known as Indian tiger) and there are less Amur tigers (also known as Siberian tiger) left in the wild.

Independence of the United States https://www.preetamsworld.com/independence-of-the-united-states/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=independence-of-the-united-states Fri, 22 May 2020 03:08:40 +0000 https://www.preetamsworld.com/?p=87 The United States has a long history fighting for independence, here are a few parts of the fight.

Boston Tea Party

The Boston Tea Party happened in 1773.The main part was about throwing loads of tea so the British would go away. So the British came into Boston asking to pay a really high tax, everyone in Boston did not like it, so the people in Boston started to throw a lot of tea into the sea.

The American Revolution

After the Americans declared independence on July 4, 1776, the British people did not want the Americans to win independence that fast so after 2-3 years the American Revolutionary War started. It was one of the hardest times for the Americans because the war lasted for around 10 years. Between the war, you might know Benjamin Franklin, Right? He was the ambassador to France at that time. He might have got a group of soldiers to come to the United States and they fought on the American side. Soon, the British crumbled and the Americans won their independence.

Fun Facts

  • Did you know that some wars could take a whole 100 years!
  • Even some countries fought for independence in 2000 way to late than some other countries.
  • People that lived at that time had to be careful because of bombs happening.
  • Most British people did force people out of their homes to go do their jobs.

What is STEM? https://www.preetamsworld.com/what-is-stem/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=what-is-stem Thu, 21 May 2020 03:36:27 +0000 https://www.preetamsworld.com/?p=83 There are four things in STEM, here is what they stand for:

  • Science
  • Technology
  • Engineering
  • Math

Science

Science is the action or behavior of anything , here are a few examples.

The behavior of human could sad, happy, angry, and more.
The action of an animal could be forceful, forceless, and more.

Technology

Technology is applying knowledge for practical purpose. For example, you may know how to make software. When you use that knowledge to solve a practical problem, like a baby monitor, it becomes technology.

Engineering

Engineering is all about applying science and math to build structures, products and systems. For example, how to build a bridge is science. Engineering is applying that knowledge to build a bridge over a river.

Also, you can touch a phone, those are made by an hardware company, or you can touch a computer, those are also made by an hardware company. Making these products needs engineering.

Math

You might know about math, like when you were in school. You do math, you learn math, you get math quizzes, it is all about the math. It is the science of numbers like additions, subtraction etc. The government decides what students should learn in each grade. Like the government says that in kindergarten, students should learn to add 3-digit-numbers.

Food

Lion
Credit to George Hodan

Lions are carnivores which means they eat meat. Their diet contains antelope, zebra, giraffe, elephant, hippopotamus, rhino, crocodiles, wild dogs, cheetahs, buffaloes, leopards, wild hogs, birds, reptiles, and more.

Habitat

Lions live in parts of Central and South Africa. Lions and other animals don not live in North Africa because there are deserts around there. A smaller population also lives around the south of Asia.

The cat family

Lions are a group of the cat family. Here are a few more animals that are part of the cat family.

Weight/speed

A lion or the king of the jungle maximum speed is is 35mph. As fast as a normal Giraffe. You can lift a cub, But when it comes to adults, you won’t even lift a lion by yourself or with a group to help!

Population of lions are getting hurt

Population of lions is getting hurt because… if you guessed humans, that is correct. At least 90% of the time, humans are killing animals, destroying their habits so they could build houses for humans.
